Meet the Band

Kendra Wiffen-Vocals

Kendra has been singing and playing instruments since the tender age of 3.  Growing up, she performed in many professional musical theatre productions, earning her first paychecks as just a little tyke.  She continued on that path and has been a fixture in the Boston theatre scene, receiving accolades and multiple IRNE awards and Broadway World nominations over the years.  Kendra has been a fixture with the BSO POPS! and Tanglewood Chorus.  Working one on one with conductors Keith Lockhart and James Levine, she has been a soloist in the BSO’s performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, as well as many holiday concerts and televised events.

At age 23, Kendra made her Carnegie Hall debut singing the soprano solo in Charpentier’s Te Deum under conductor Theodore Davidovich.  After studying opera in college and earning her degree in music, she was chosen to tour Rome, Italy performing in Bizet’s Carmen.  Kendra has performed in hundreds of musicals and operas over the years, but nothing has been as fun as singing with  Massachusetts premier 80s cover band, Back to the 80s!

MIKE DEANGELIS

Mike DeAngelis - Guitar, Vocals

What can be said about Mike DeAngelis? Incredible guitarist and entertainer, who is a perfect fit for the band!

Russ Fama – Drums, Vocals

Russell Fama fell in love with music at the very early age of 7 when his parents would watch and sing along to The Tony Orlando and Dawn show. A few years later he became very edgy (haha) when he started listening to the Bay City Rollers, until he saw KISS on the Paul Lynde Halloween special, which changed his life forever.

At that point he tossed his BCR records out the window and started listening to the Stones, Alice Cooper, Van Halen ect. At the age of 13 he became very interested in playing drums, which was encouraged by his Mother when she heard him playing Brown Sugar on pots and pans.

Since his parents didn’t have much money; they purchased a second hand kid from one of his brothers friends and started taking lessons at the Malden School of music. After goofing around in a few local bands, it wasn’t until later on he started a band called Muthas Mystake which played mostly 90s grunge and

Pop rock and had a solid local following for 11 years, but his true love was always 70s and 80s music. A few years after Muthas Mystake disbanded, he reached out to a former bandmate (TJ Ahern) to start an 80s tribute. Since TJ loved the 80s it was a no brainer. In 2013 Back to the 80s was born and going strong ever since.

George Lehner

George Lehner – Keys, Vocals

From the age of seven to present, music has been an integral part of my life. Many bands, fans and musicians have come and gone but still the music remains. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to continue to perform at a high level for so long and with Back To The 80’s I feel like I have come home!
From the early 80’s with “411”, to “TPG”, “Just Kill Me Rico”, “WOOT”, and “NOTORIOUS” and so many more, the music remains and the performances get better and better.

I am truly blessed!
